I call these “cheater” cookies because they’re so easy to make and really good for you… feels like I’m cheating! 😉 NO flour and NO sugar! I may use these as potty-training bribes since they pass as cookies. Hey, whatever works!
I found the original recipe on Pinterest but didn’t find a link attached anywhere.
Ingredients:
* 3 mashed bananas (ripe)
* 1/3 cup apple sauce
*2 cups quick oats
* 1/4 cup almond milk (or whatever you like)
* 1/8 cup hemp seeds, shelled
* 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 1 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mash bananas, combine all ingredients together.
3. Spoon out large dollops of “dough” onto parchment paper.
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Could I use chia seeds instead of the hemp seeds?
Sure!
Sure!! Let me know how they turn out!!
My husband loves oatmeal raisin cookies. These look so easy I’ll give them a try. I love the ingredient list. 🙂
I have frozen bananas and plan to try with those. They were good and ripe!
I was so excited to try these. I subbed chia for the hemp, as I don’t have hemp seeds and am hesistant to buy yet another special ingredient for just one recipe. They turned out kind of rubbery for me. The flavor is fine, but the texture was sort of like congealed leftover oatmeal. Did I not bake them long enough, or perhaps the chia doesn’t work as well as hemp? What is the texture when you make them? I really wanted my kids to like these, but no dice!
I think the chia seeds were the problem. They really aren’t your typical “cookie” texture anyways but pretty close. They are best fresh too otherwise I heat them up in the microwave for a few seconds. Try hemp next time, if you can, or maybe just try baking them longer? Let me know what you find!!!
My grandson has Juv Diabetes so these should be great but i would still need to know the carb count. He has just been diagnosed so not sure how to figure it out.
Hmm… Maybe enter it into Chron-O-Meter?
